Ponylift, Snow Tubing, and the Aela Ski Lift
In Maloja, the ski area with the Ponylift and snowtubing is particularly family-friendly and ideal for families with children. It is located in the Orden area, close to the winter hiking trails and cross-country ski tracks. The area is also home to Bistrò Pony, a small restaurant with a lovely terrace, perfect for a break with the whole family.

Ponylift
The Ponylift is ideal for children who want to take their first steps on skis in a beginner-friendly environment. Thanks to its ease of use and gentle slope, it allows little ones to get familiar with skiing, practise their balance and gradually build confidence on the snow while having fun.

Snowtubing
Snowtubing lets you race down a slope on large inflatable snow tubes for a fun-filled adventure! At the end of the run, a dedicated lift conveniently takes you back to the top without having to get off your tube. Whether sitting up, lying on your back or on your stomach, you can choose your favourite position for the ride down!
Opening depends on snow conditions. In the event of heavy snowfall or insufficient snow cover, the facility may be temporarily closed.

Skilift Aela
Sunshine, tranquillity and plenty of snow: the Aela ski lift in Maloja is the perfect destination for anyone looking to enjoy the mountains away from the crowds and surrounded by nature. The main lift connects the valley station in Maloja, at 1,817 m, with the summit at 2,100 m, making the ride to the top a special experience in itself. After fresh snowfall, the surrounding forests become a paradise for freeride enthusiasts, with snow-covered trees and descents through unspoilt natural scenery.
The Aela ski lift will remain closed for the 2026/2027 winter season due to maintenance work.
Bistrò Pony
Located right next to the Ponylift and the snowtubing run, Bistrò Pony is the perfect place to take a break during a day in the snow. While the children enjoy the slopes and play in the snow, parents can relax with a hot drink and soak up the winter atmosphere. After a great day of skiing or an afternoon spent in the snow, Bistrò Pony welcomes visitors of all ages to warm up, recharge their batteries and round off the day together.
Near the restaurant, you will also find a yurt – a unique and cosy space available for groups on request, ideal for spending time together in a charming atmosphere.

How to get there
For those arriving by car, parking is available opposite Hotel Maloja Kulm, close to the ski area. Alternatively, you can use the car park at Giacometti Sport. Depending on availability, free sledges can be borrowed there to transport equipment to the Ponylift area. After use, the sledges must be returned to the collection point.
A shuttle service is available by reservation for children up to 12 years old, at a cost of CHF 40 per trip. The service operates with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 children.
Reservations must be made with Bregaglia Maloja Turismo by 12 noon on the previous day.

The BregagliaPass is available at the Maloja information centre and at the Pony lift.
It is valid for all Bregaglia ski lifts (Sur Cresta, Pony, Snowtubing, Aela).
