In Prosto di Piuro, there is a special workshop where Roberto Lucchinetti continues to cut and carve soapstone from the Bregaglia Valley. His soapstone pots, secured with copper or iron bands, are renowned.
His wife Paola creates and weaves beautiful fabrics from linen, hemp, silk, and wool, which we’ll have the chance to admire. To cap off the visit, we’ll savor chestnuts cooked in a soapstone pot (lavec) with whipped cream.
Venue Prosto di Piuro (Italy). If you are traveling from the border towards Chiavenna, turn left off the main road in Prosto di Piuro. The Lucchinetti workshop is located on the left-side of the river, near the church.
