In 2020, the dried chestnut from Bregaglia was included in Slow Food's Ark of Taste. Only a few chestnut farmers still dry chestnuts in the traditional way.
We visit one of these chestnut-growing couples and their drying house, listen to their stories and, weather permitting, taste the brascher (roasted chestnuts) prepared over an open fire.
Location in the Plazza chestnut grove
Meeting point At 10.45 a.m. at the Plazza post bus stop, 2 km from Soglio (on the Promontogno-Soglio line). There is no car park in Plazza. Please come on foot or by post bus.
